Dr. Ali Al-Fazari graduated from FMHS, UAE in 1999. He completed his internship at Al Ain and Tawam Hospitals. Dr. Al-Fazari then began a residency programme in Internal Medicine at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada which he completed in June 2004. He then joined the gastroenterology fellowship programme at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which he completed in June 2006
Dr. Ali Al-Melaih Al-Fazari has been American Board certified in Internal Medicine since August 2004. He further obtained a specialty certificate in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and became a Fellow of the Royal College in August 2005. Following successful completion of his Gastroenterology Fellowship, Dr. Al-Fazari obtained the Canadian Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Subspecialty Certificate in Gastroenterology in September 2006. Dr. Ali Al Fazari is the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Emirates Digestive Diseases Group (EDDG), College of Medicine & Health Sciences at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)
Dr. Al Fazari is an active academic faculty member at the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine & Health Sciences in Al Ain. He was appointed as the co-director of the Internal Medicine residency programme between 2007 and 2009 and served as the chair of the Postgraduate Medical Education Committee (PGME) at the College of Medicine. He is currently the chair of the Higher Professional Training Committee at the College of Medicine & Health Sciences overseeing clinical diplomas and fellowship programs. Between 2010 and 2015, Dr. Al Fazari was heavily engaged in clinical and basic science research. His main research interests are carcinogenesis, bioenergetics and hepatotoxicity. He is published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
