Dr. Raji Mathew has more than 25 years of extensive post graduate clinical experience in the fields of internal medicine and cardiology from hospitals and clinics in India, the UAE and Canada.
He joined Mediclinic Welcare Hospital in 1999 and oversaw the Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units and later served Emirates Diagnostic Clinic as Specialist Physician.
In 2010, he joined the world renowned Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at the Toronto General Hospital, Canada and successfully completed his Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation. During this period, he acquired special skills in managing patients with refractory heart failure who are treated medically and with various types of left ventricular assist devices. He also gained extensive experience in managing advanced heart failure patients awaiting heart transplantation and post heart transplant patients needing lifelong immunosuppressive therapy. He also worked with the Toronto Transplantation Institute’s multi-organ transplant group and gained considerable expertise in managing patients with other solid organ transplantations.
Dr Raji rejoined us in 2011. His expertise also includes the latest diagnostic techniques in cardiology and internal medicine like echocardiography, exercise stress testing as well as various Invasive procedures. He is a very keen proponent of effective health education and lifestyle modification in the management of patients and as part of preventive healthcare.
He is an ACLS provider with the American Heart Association, a life member of the Heart Failure Society of America, Emirates Cardiac Society, Indian Academy of Echocardiography, Cardiological Society of India and Association of Physicians of India.
